Blessings of Covid and Mission Call to the Massachusetts Boston Mission
March 22, 2021
Family and friends,
We found that this Covid year turned out wonderful in many ways for our family. At first I was very negative, but as we tried to follow the counsel of the prophet, we found much that was good. We were blessed in many ways that we may not have been otherwise.
Our appreciation for God and His tender mercies has increased. We have greater confidence in God’s love. We have a greater appreciation of family and the need to be together to support each other. We missed the power of gathering with other members in worship, but found great power in gospel study. We were blessed with a wonderful new baby, Elizabeth, our first great-grand-daughter. We slowed down and focused on things that mattered most. We discovered greater compassion for diverse populations. We had more time for family research. We learned not to take access to the temple for granted, and cherished the few times we were able to attend in 2020. Covid affected the political direction of our country, which inspired a greater appreciation for our freedoms. We witnessed the miracle of healing in body and soul.
Bev and I have received our mission calls to serve in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. We started our mission on May 10, 2021 via Zoom technology. We have been called to work in welfare and self-reliance services. We have worked in our stake as self-reliance facilitators, and have seen it have wonderful impact on peoples' lives. We look forward to being able to help with this and other great programs - wherever the Lord needs us.
We love you and pray for God’s greatest blessings to be poured out upon your families,
Glen and Bev Parker
