July 24th High Rock, Gloucester, Stage Fort Park, Magnolia Harbor, and Hooper, Utah

After several days of rain, p-day for seniors was a beautiful, clear, sunny day that was perfect for driving to the coast.  The temperature was wonderful, and the ocean and sky were blue!

If our family were here, this park would be perfect for a family day at the beach!

Pioneer Ancestor Memories on this 24th of July

We read this thought at breakfast on the morning of the 24th of July 2021.  It's a great one on respecting and honoring the deeds of our pioneer ancestors.

Edwin Parker and Catherine Cox Parker family about 1875.  My grandpa Robert Parel Parker is not in the picture as he was not born. He is one of the youngest of a large family.   See link below to see more.

I love this picture I recently discovered of the Hooper Choir.  The Parker family has many ancestors in this picture.  Our great-grandfather, Edwin Parker (Glen's Grandpa Parker's father) is the man with the beard to the right of the organ, center back wall.  He is the father of a number of the members of the choir.  *See the Parker and Cox names!  Edwin's wife was Catherine (Kitty) Cox, so she has a number of relatives from her family pictured also.  I love the setting.  It is probably the front of the church in Hooper.  Notice the paintings and the podium.  You can look up Edwin Parker at the URL below:

Edwin Parker and Catherine Cox Parker at the celebration.  Notice from the article they sang a song Edwin wrote, "Know Ye Not That Man Is Free to Choose His Life and Where E'er He Be."
